OF LEGO, HEADSHOTS, MYSTERY OF GHAZI AND RUNNING MARRIAGES

THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE is a 2017 3D computer -animated superhero comedy movie written by Seth Grahame-Smith, Chris Mckenna, Erik Sommers, Jared Stern and John Whittington and directed by Chris Mckay. Will Arnett is voicing Batman; Zack Galifianakis is voicing Joker, Rosario Dawson is voicing Barbara Gordon while Michael Cera is voicing Dick Grayson/ Robin and Ralph Fiennes is voicing Alfred Pennyworth.

With a visceral treat of animation and a hilarious script the Lego Batman movie is all set to create mayhem at the box office. The movie was premiered in Dublin, Ireland on January 29, 2017 and it was released in US on February 10, 2017 by Warner bros. pictures in 3D, REAL 3D, and IMAX.

Before its release in India, it has grossed over 98 million worldwide.

JOHN WICK: Chapter 2 – is a 2017 neo-noir action thriller written by Derek Kolstad and directed by Chad Stahelski who has also directed the previous John Wick movie.  In John Wick 2, hitman John Wick has a bounty on his head and is on the run. The film stars Keanu Reeves, Common, Laurence Fishburne, Riccaedo Scamarcio, Ruby Rose, John Leguizamo and Ian Mcshane.

John Wick is that kind of stylized action thriller where more is merrier. Chad who is a stuntman himself has kept the look of the movie very fresh. From the production design to the exhilarating action set pieces to the never ending pile of dead bodies killed mostly by ‘headshots’. In the first movie the number of kills by John Wick was 77 and in the sequel it is 128; so yes, let the headshots, car drifts, and relentless action begin as John Wick is back with a bang and a message – You don’t stab the devil in the back!

The Ghazi Attack – is a 2017 Bollywood movie war movie (made in three languages, Hindi, Telgu and Tamil) with a screenplay written by Sankalp Reddy, Niranjan Reddy and Gangaraju Gunnam and directed by Sankalp Reddy.  The film stars Rana Daggubati, Taapsee Pannu, Kay Kay Menon, Atul Kulkarni and Rahul Singh. The movie is inspired by true events from the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War.

Indian Cinema is not good with war movies as they commercialize or over dramatize patriarchy but The Ghazi Attack is not only engaging but also taut. Critics have been talking about Kay Kay Menon’s performance as Ranvijay Singh and how the movie is supported by a good supporting cast which includes Rana Dugabbati and late actor Om Puri.  The cinematography is done by R. Madi who has previously worked on Kashyup’s Shaitan.

Amitabh Bachchan lent his voice for the Hindi version of the film while Chiranjeevi lent his voice for the Telgu version.

Running Shaadi.com – is a 2017 romantic comedy produced by Shoojit Sircar and Crouching Tiger Motion Pictures about the bizarre yet unique concept of helping people run away with the love of their life to get married. The film stars Taapsee Pannu, Amit Sadh, Arsh Bajwa and Vishwakarma Raaj.

The movie has targeted the youth. After watching the trailer one gets a sense of Band Baaja Baarat but the treatment is different. Critics have said that the movie is watchable and is new and fresh but is not entertaining throughtout, especially the second half.

The film has a new concept and it is executed well but ultimately as Indian rom-com goes, you’re entertained in bits and pieces. So, if you like the cast and convinced with the story, wear your running shoes and log in, into Running Shaadi.com.
